Wallpaper of the Week: Thibeau Design’s Canterbury Collection
Friday, January 20, 2012
In the latest installment of Lakeside Painting's "Wallpaper of the Week" series, in which we survey a wide array of wallcoverings, we take a look at not one but several offerings from Thibeau Design.
The collection is called "Canterbury," which simulatenously conjures thoughts of 14th Century poet Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and the look and feel of English countryside elegance. Canterbury, Kent in England is also the birthplace of Elizabethan poet and dramatist Christopher Marlowe. The Canterbury Collection does a rather good job of capturing the spirit of past and present in its 15 disctinct wallpaper designs.
As Thibeau Design writes:
For centuries the English have created the most celebrated gardens across the globe. The Thibaut design studio sought to capture these special gardens within the Canterbury collection. From Dutch topiaries and Romanesque urns to Parisian fountains the collection reflects the varying styles the English used in creating garden treasures.
The various wallpapers range from minimal respresntations of topiary gardens and subtle ferns to laundrette lines and terrace gardens. And each design is offered in a range of colors.
