Spring is here, so we've immediately found ourselves outside working on some exterior painting projects. (Early birds get the worm as far as the best scheduling times.) One of our recent exterior projects was a painting and staining job in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Led by longtime Lakeside foreman Darren Brewer and his crew, our painters gave this beautiful home a fresh coat of paint.
To prep for coating, we power-washed and/or hand-cleaned the previously painted surfaces, including siding, window trim, railings, columns, doors and frames. Next, we scraped, spot-primed, and two-coated with 100% acrylic house paint. Care was taken to properly caulk and seal all surfaces to prevent moisture penetration. The sofits, front entry, and deck boards were cleaned, sanded, and coated with semi-tranparent exterior stain.
This job had a number of challenges. The home has beautiful windows, stonework, walkways, landscaping, and roof surfaces that needed protection from damage caused by gaining access to them, as well as the unavoidable paint and/or stain drips and splatters. The home also has some very high elevations and extra deep sofits, made all the more challenging by being into the side of a hilly property lot. For these reasons, we took time to properly plan, prepare, and complete the job in a safe and efficient manner.
Ultimately, the homeowner was pleased with the crew, the new color scheme, and the overall final product. And Lakeside was happy to add this homeowner to the ranks of its loyal satisfied customers.
