From late winter into the early months of summer, Lakeside Painting undertook a massive project at Hentzen Coatings, Inc., in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as part of our industrial services division. We've covered several aspects of the project before, including a video on "Staircase Painting" and a general overview of the project as a work-in-progress, but now we are going to take a look at a concrete floor polishing that was required for a large platform in the factory.
The platform, which was custom designed and built for Hentzen, is located roughly in the middle of the facility. It's about twenty feet from the factory floor, and the newly poured concrete required the same grinding and polishing as the existing factory floor below.
In under a week in early summer, we ground the platform's concrete with progessive passes of our Husqvarna diamond-tipped grinders. As usual, these repeated passes are required with different diamond grinding wheels and pads to achieve a finer, more attractive surface appearance. In addition to giving the concrete floor a polished look, it made it more slip-resistant and thus safer, but also easier to clean in the long-term.
In the slideshow above, you can see the various stages of the polishing of the platform's concrete floor. And if your industrial or commercial business is in need of similar work, don't hesitate to contact Lakeside Painting at 262-642-9445 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
