Wallpaper of the Week: Marcel Wanders’ Forest Muses - Electric Blue

In the latest installment of our "Wallpaper of the Week" series, we consider designer Marcel Wanders' Forest Muses - Electric Blue wallpaper for Graham & Brown.

Marcel Wanders is a Dutch designer, based in Amsterdam, who has designed for global brands and furniture stores such as Target, B&B Italia, Cappellini, Puma, KLM -Royal Dutch Airlines, Flos, Magis and Google. Wanders has a reputation for very artistic interior design works.

Clearly this talent is on display with Wanders' Forest Muses - Electric Blue wallpaper for Graham & Brown, which is one of the most visually arresting wallpapers we have seen as of late. It features various fairies posed in a variety of positions, although they're almost hidden in the wallpaper's pattern.

On the Graham & Brown website, the wallpaper is described as "flock wallpaper." Flocking is the practice of creating texture by way of fibers deposited on the surface of an article such as upholestery, t-shit or, in this case, wallpaper.

The description of the wallpaper is itself rather poetic. "Transient and daring they are camouflaged to the naked eye. It is but the soft whispers they breathe that beckon you forward. Darkness breaks and in a moment the fairies emerge dancing through the damask forest. “Closer, closer” they whisper “may we dance for you?”

The wallpaper is 25" in width, 32.8 ft per roll, straight in design and $160 per roll. It's slightly on the pricier side but given the design and the design, we think it's a great deal, especially for someone looking to make a room really pop.
