Restaurant reputations are made or broken not only on the quality of their food, but in the cleanliness and appearance of their interior and exterior. The simple truth is that potential patrons will dismiss a restaurant that is falling apart, leaking or in some other way unattractive. It could have the greatest cut of filet mignon, but if exterior doesn't reflect that quality, forget it—customers will go elsewhere.
Different restaurants require different aesthetics—a sampling of Wisconsin's restaurants will confirm this, of course. An upper scale restaurant will most likely have an elegant look, perhaps with decorative painting, Victorian Era-inspired wallpaper or ornate molding. A family restaurant has a more laid back and warm atmosphere. There are, of course, exceptions to both cases, but this is where communication between painting companies and business owners becomes pivotal.
The main objective, however, is that all patrons—whatever the restaurant type—should feel at home and comfortable.
A restaurant will also experience a lot of wear and tear in the kitchen, particularly in areas in and around ovens, stoves, refrigerators and freezers. Interior painting in these areas is essential for kitchen cleanliness. Remember: A patron won't be seeing the kitchen, but a Wisconsin health code inspector will.
