Lakeside Restores Old Tool & Die Building

Saturday, March 07, 2020

Recently, Lakeside's team finished restoring an old, industrial building. The space was formally used as tool & die business. Afters years of neglect, the new owners decided to turn the building into a storage facility for their personal car collection.

Lakeside was in charge of cleaning the building's structural ceiling by using compressed air supplied by a rented mobile air compressor. After the cleaning was finished, the CMU block walls received a coat of masonry conditioner primer, and two full coats of industrial grade multi-surface enamel. The owners decided on an eggshell sheen. In addition, the metal doors and frames were prepped and painted. Lakeside was also asked to work on the buildings piping and sprinkler system.

The overall job was a success, and the customer was left satisfied with the service, quality of work, and turnaround. They asked Lakeside to test a concrete polish as they were curious about using exposed aggregate for the cement floors. In the end, the owners loved the aggregate, and in the near future the team will polish the remaining 7,200+ sq ft.
